The GCA FC Developmental Premier Program is the home and beginning of the GCA FC competitive teams. This is where the hard work of the Academy Program years pays off. Players in the Developmental Premier Program are selected from tryouts held in May and June of each year. Tryouts are open to everyone, within and from outside of the club, all are welcome.
For each birth year, GCA FC aims to field 2 equal teams on both the boys and girls side. Each team has a dedicated coaching staff and trains according to the GAC FC possession-based Street Soccer-inspired game model and system of play. Both teams will play in the EDP CT Championship League or other. The goal is to continue individual player development, the team comes second.
One Tournament is included in the U11 & U12 cost.
WHAT IS GCA FC DEVELOPMENTAL PREMIER PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY
We believe that player development takes time and cannot be rushed. Our goal is to help each player reach their maximum potential. We do this by making sure each and every one of our USSF licensed coaches has a written training session plan for every practice, the plan is focused on one topic, so the players are not confused by multiple coaching points and activities of the different aspects of the game.
The training environment consists of an expanded technical warm-up to small-sided activities and finishes with a game. This environment allows the players to express themselves and be creative. Coming up with creative ways to handle the ball and situations in these activities that simulate the real game, prepares the individual for real life soccer situations and problem solving in the game.
While we will strive to win every game, our main focus will still be player development, results will come second.
CAN PLAYERS PARTICIPATE IN OTHER NON-PREMIER PROGRAMS
We highly recommend players that want to play for their respected town or school team to do so. We believe in working with the players, parents and coaches to make the schedules work for all at this young age. Our coaches in the past have successfully done this here and at other clubs before joining GCA FC. We support all programs and coaches that positively impacts a player's development and believe we all have a responsibility in their growth, as they strive to become a better soccer player to reach their next level.
